Is the Yris service free?
The YRIS service is effectively free for anyone who wants to create a digital identity.
How do I register for the Yris service?
Simply download the YRIS mobile app from the App Store or Google Play Store, launch the app and follow the instructions. Everything is done from the application.
Who can use Yris?
YRIS is a service open to all users of a mobile line with a compatible SIM card and equipped with an Apple or Android smartphone and with one of the accepted identity documents.

Management of my digital identity

How to unsubscribe?
To unsubscribe from YRIS, open the application on your smartphone, log in, go to “Settings” (the icon at the bottom right of the main screen), then click on “Delete my account”. If you are unable to log in, you can request to unsubscribe via the contact form.
How do I change my Yris confidential code?
To change your YRIS confidential code, open the application on your smartphone, log in, go to “Settings” (the icon at the bottom right of the main screen), then click on “Change your confidential code” and follow the instructions on the screen.
How do I change my email address?
You can change your email address from the Yris application on your smartphone. Log in to the app, then go to “Settings” (the icon at the bottom right of the main screen), select “Edit your email” and follow the instructions on the screen.

Problems encountered during registration

What if I can’t complete the video challenge necessary for remote identity verification?
Make sure you present a naked face without head covering, similar to the one on your ID picture, in front of an even background with sufficient light. The smartphone should be held at about 30 cm, straight in front of your face. To secure your identity, the application will ask you to slowly rotate your head to the right. You must stay into the frame presented on the screen during the challenge.
What if my city of birth is not on the list?
If your city of birth is not listed, please contact our support service via the Contact page with details of this place (country, region, state if you were born abroad; region, department, zip code if you were born in France etc).
What should I do if my identity document is not accepted?
The identity documents accepted by YRIS are those accepted by ARIADNEXT’s PVID solution, i.e. most identity cards and residence permits issued by EU member states, as well as most passports, as long as they are equipped with a security component (biometric passport). Your identity document must be valid.
What should I do if I don’t receive the confirmation email?
If you did not receive the confirmation email, please check your junk or spam folder. The confirmation link has a limited period of validity. You can request a new link from the YRIS application.

Problems encountered when using my digital identity

What should I do if I have a problem with one of the online services using FranceConnect?
If you have any problem using one of the online services using FranceConnect (ANTS, taxes, driving licence, car registration, pension, etc.), please contact the website in question.
What should I do if I blocked my Yris confidential code?
If you have blocked your YRIS confidential code, you must redo the registration process from your mobile application in order to use the service again.
What should I do if I forgot my Yris confidential code?
If you have forgotten your YRIS confidential code, you must repeat the registration process from your mobile application in order to use the service again.
What should I do if I get an error on FranceConnect after authenticating myself?
FranceConnect verifies your YRIS digital identity with the INSEE’s National Directory for the Identification of Persons. If your YRIS identity does not correspond exactly to your identity in the INSEE directory, FranceConnect displays an error message 11 or 12. To be registered in the INSEE Directory, you must meet at least one of these conditions:
  • Have a French nationality
  • Having worked in France
  • Having studied in France
  • Having been treated in France
  • Having been affiliated to the French health insurance system (sécurité sociale)
If you meet at least one of these conditions and you have an error message 11 or 12, please contact us so that we can verify your digital identity. If you do not meet at least one of these conditions, you cannot use FranceConnect.

Security

How do I manage my YRIS service?
You can manage your YRIS account from the dashboard of your mobile application. You will be able to modify some personal data, re-register your ID document, view your connexion history, change your email address and confidential code, delete your account, or retract.
What data is managed by Yris?
Your personal data managed by YRIS are those provided during the enrollment process: cell phone number, email address, ID data (last name, first name, gender, date, place and country of birth), and photos of your ID and face.
How are my personal data managed?
Your personal data is stored in France and is only shared with a third party with your consent. The development of the YRIS application, as well as the management of personal data such as your digital identity, is entrusted to ARIADNEXT. It is a French company specialized in the verification of identity documents in different environments such as KYC (Know Your Customer) processes, digital subscription paths, or electronic signature in compliance with the eIDAS regulation.
What should I do if my phone is lost or stolen?
If your smartphone is lost or stolen, you must immediately revoke your YRIS credentials to prevent misuse by a third party. This can be done online from the YRIS web application. It is always possible to contact our support service via the Contact page, which will guide you in the best possible way on the steps to take.
